Community Outreach Officer

P/T; Salary pa: £24,000, pro rata; two days a week; flexible working hours; 21-month contract

The key responsibilities are to develop links with community organisations, to extend local food growing and gardening spaces and to help deliver an outreach educational programme on food growing. Experience of working with or within community organisations is desirable.

Grounds Maintenance Officer (£19,000 - £21,000)

Roupell Park RMO is seeking to recruit a permanent grounds maintenance officer to assist in the delivery of general grounds maintenance services throughout the estate by maintaining green areas to an excellent standard and assist in delivering other environmental maintenance services across the Roupell Park Estate.

The job requirements are varied and challenging and we are therefore looking for someone who has:

  • Experience of delivering a regular maintenance, gardening and soft landscaping service, preferably in a residential or community garden
  • Formal training in gardening or groundwork
  • Sound knowledge and use of horticultural machinery
  • Driving licenceAbility to produce high quality work demonstrating attention to detail
  • The ability to problem solve
  • Excellent communications skills

Estate Director

Main purpose of the job

In partnership with the RMO Board, URH and other stakeholders, you will be responsible for strategic planning, managing major works and delivering excellent housing services to the residents of the Waltham Estate which come under the jurisdiction of the Waltham Estate Resident Management Organisation.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and support of staff that the RMO employ on a permanent or temporary basis in accordance with the Management Agreement between the RMO and URH, within the RMO's prescribed policies, procedures and legal requirements to develop, lead and effectively mange all aspects of Waltham Estate RMO's activities.

Ten hours per week – 9.15am to 4.15pm every Thursday, plus a few hours throughout the week, including Tuesday and Wednesday early mornings, £8.70 per hour.

Local Greens (http://www.localgreens.org.uk) is looking to hire a packing manager to replace the lovely Ruth, who is leaving London. This person:

  • Oversees the packing on a Thursday, including doing some of the packing
  • Manages volunteer packers
  • Delivers the bags to our local collection points in our electric van
  • Maintains quality control of the veg as it is packed
  • Manages the van, including charging it up
  • Takes delivery of the veg, including loading it into the van and checking quality and quantity

This person needs to:

  • Have good project management skills
  • Have attention to detail
  • Have troubleshooting skills
  • Have good communication skills
  • Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Have a current UK driving license
  • Be computer literate
  • Be committed to green issues
  • Be reliable and punctual
