Friends ofWindmillGardens have nominated Brixton Windmill in the category "Landmarks and attractions". If we receive 100 votes, we automatically get entered into the awards scheme, with a chance to be awarded the accolade "Best in Britain 2012".
We're up against some stiff competition, including Stonehenge, Hadrian's Wall andSt Paul's Cathedral. But even if we don't win, by reaching 100 votes we will gain some useful publicity - we get a free poster and e-badge to encourage even more votes.

It was evident that Ed was impressed with what Blenheim residents had achieved in managing their own estate services.
The RMO would like to thank the residents who participated in making Ed's visit to the estate an interesting one.

Residents on Blenheim Gardens Estate can now take part in the new Recyclebank scheme and earn discounts for recycling that can be used in local shops, cafes, restaurants and leisure facilities.
Lambeth residents are the first in London to be able to participate in the Recyclebank scheme, which has been introduced by the council to boost recycling levels and reduce the amount the borough spends disposing of waste.
Residents who sign up earn points every time they recycle. The points can then be used for a fantastic selection of rewards.
By simply recycling your waste and letting Recyclebank know, you could make up to £75 a year in savings when visiting restaurants or buying anything from books to clothing. You will even be rewarded with 300 Recyclebank points just for joining the scheme!
To sign up and start earning points visit www.recyclebank.com/lambeth
In anticipation of this scheme and the fact that recycling has been made compulsory in the borough's revised tenancy conditions, Blenheim Gardens RMO has introduced ten new recycling chutes on the estate in addition to the existing recycling banks offered. We have placed two of the new recycling chutes in Glanville Road, one in Blenheim Gardens, two in Prague Place and five in Ramilles Close. Blenheim Gardens Estate is therefore leading the away on estate recycling.
