Parking permits and regulations summary

Policy

Your local resident management organisation's (RMO's) Parking Enforcement Policy and Regulations Policy aims to ensure the fair, equal and consistent distribution of both residents' and visitors' parking permits on your RMO. The aims of this policy are:

• To provide a parking enforcement policy that reflects local parking enforcement needs
• To provide an effective, clear and transparent parking enforcement service on your local RMO for the residents of the estate
• To ensure permits are distributed in line with residents' tenancy or lease obligations and that consistency in the distribution of permits is achieved
• To ensure the parking arrangements on the estate are monitored and periodically reviewed

Contractor

The approved contractor for parking enforcement on your estate is Night Hawk Security

For a resident permit you will need:

• A valid insurance certificate
• A MOT certificate
• A vehicle registered to an address on the estate

For a visitors permit you will need:

• Proof of residency
• Payment

Scheme operation times

The enforcement scheme will be in operation 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days of the year. Parking on cross hatch areas, pavements and outside bin chambers or garages is never permitted.

Permit charges

A resident's permit is £5.00. One resident's permit will be issued per household unless a joint tenancy is in operation. The duration of this permit is for one year.

A visitor's permit is £5.00 (inclusive of VAT) for all tenants, leaseholders and service charge paying freeholders who have complied with the terms and conditions of their tenancy or lease.

Freeholders who do not pay a service charge will be charged £15.00 plus VAT for a visitor's permit.

Subsequent visitor's permits are £15.00 plus VAT to a maximum of four permits per property. The duration of this permit is one year.

Daily visitor's permits will be charged at the rate of £1.00 per day (inclusive of VAT).

Weekly visitor's permits will be charged at the rate of £5.00 (inclusive of VAT).

Residents are reminded that untaxed vehicles are not allowed to be parked on the estate under any circumstances.

Residents are also reminded that it is your responsibility to ensure that the permit is clearly displayed.

Complaints and appeals

All complaints and appeals must be made directly to Night Hawk Security. Night Hawk Security operates a 24-hour service. If you have any queries or if your vehicle has been clamped, please contact the Night Hawk Security control room on 0870 063 8409 for clarification.

Reducing vehicle crime

• Shut windows and lock doors
• Do not leave anything on display
• Never leave the keys in the ignition
• Always keep your keys in a safe place: at home keep your keys out of sight and away from windows and doors; remove your ignition key every time you leave your car and always ensure it is locked. It only takes a few minutes for a thief to steal your car
• Fit locking wheel nuts to protect your wheels and tyres
• Arrange to have your vehicle registration number etched onto the glass surfaces, including headlamps
• Fit an immobiliser, either electronic or mechanical, such as a steering wheel lock. Information on vehicle immobilisation products can be obtained by calling the Vehicle Security National Helpline on 0870 550 2006.
