Cabwise
To
find a black cab, simply text HOME to 60835 to get the numbers of black
cab ranks in the area you are texting from to your phone.
Alternatively,
you can access 7,000 black cabs via just one telephone number - ‘One
Number' on 0871 871 8710. This new taxi booking service combines all
six of London's radio taxi circuits, allowing you to telephone 24 hours
a day if you need to hail a cab.
You can be assured that a
licensed, safe black cab has been reserved just for you. All taxis are
equipped with sophisticated GPS satellite tracking systems, so locating
and dispatching the closest available taxi is completely automatic. You
can pay for your journey by cash or card.
Lambeth Taxicard
The
Taxicard scheme allows those with severe, permanent mobility problems
who cannot use public transport, subsidised rides, at a greatly reduced
cost, in licensed black taxicabs which are wheelchair accessible. The
scheme offers a 24 hour service, 365 days a year.
The user has to
contribute £1.50 for each journey made and the council will pay up to a
further £10.80 for each journey made. If the cost of the journey
exceeds £12.30 (i.e. your contribution plus the council's
contribution), the user has to pay the difference.
The user will also have to pay all normal extras for things such as luggage or travel companions. To apply:
